Synopsis
Music sensation Aurora Storm finally has her career back on track, but then she’s caught up in a media storm. Desperate to distract from the story, she enlists the one man she trusts to pretend to be her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, in the small seaside village of Mermaids Point, Nick Morgan never expected to see Aurora again. When she calls out of the blue needing his help, he agrees at once. It feels like she’s back in his life for a reason, and he’s determined to make the most of it.
Aurora joins Nick and the rest of his family for their festive celebrations and, as the snow falls, Aurora finds herself caught up in the romance of Christmas. But having tasted worldwide fame, can she ever be content with village life?
Two weeks is all Nick has to prove to Aurora that there’s a happy ending for them both in Mermaids Point.
Opinion
Aurora is in her best professional moment. The Las Vegas tour has been a success and she is happy for everything she has achieved with her efforts. She wishes to return home to rest and have a nice Christmas.
With only a couple of performances left to go, her manager tells her about auditioning for a movie with a well-known actor. At first Aurora is reluctant. She is exhausted, she has no time to prepare, but she is also aware that this is a great opportunity for her career and agrees to audition.
The audition goes better than expected, but at the last moment something unexpected happens that puts her on alert. Aurora lets it go and thinks that her tiredness is making her see things where there are none. She doesn’t give much importance to what happened until she sees his picture on all the social networks and for the wrong reasons.
In a moment of desperation Aurora thinks of Nick. She believes he is her best option and the only person she can trust at that moment. But will Nick be willing to help her?
During all this time Nick hasn’t stopped thinking about Aurora for a single day. He would like to forget her, turn the page and move on with his life, but he cannot. All around him everyone is in love and happy while he can’t stop thinking about the abrupt end of their beautiful love story.
That’s why when he receives Aurora’s call, he doesn’t think twice. He agrees to help her and from that moment on he also sets out to win her over. He and Aurora deserve a second chance. It can’t be just a summer romance.
Happy Endings at Mermaids Point is the story of Nick and Aurora although it focuses much more on her. We learn more about her life, her fears and joys. What drives her to be the way she is and to strive so hard to be better. Her character is one of those who has evolved the most throughout the plot. Maybe that’s why I found it hard to understand some of her decisions, so radical and hasty. I would have liked a solution that was more in line with her story, something that was a middle ground.
Happy Endings at Mermaids Point the author puts an end to an endearing series. I was delighted to meet again all the characters already known from the previous stories. To see what has become of their lives as if they were old acquaintances. To walk through this beautiful town for the last time and say goodbye to it has been a rewarding experience.

Aurora está en su mejor momento profesional. La gira por Las Vegas ha sido un éxito y está feliz por todo lo que ha conseguido con su esfuerzo. Desea volver a casa a descansar y pasar una bonitas navidades.
Cuando solo le quedan un par de actuaciones para terminar, su manager le habla de la audición para una película con un actor muy conocido. En principio Aurora se muestra reticente. Está agotada, no tiene tiempo para prepararse pero es también consciente de que esta es una gran oportunidad para su carrera y acepta presentarse.
La audición marcha mejor de lo esperado pero en el último momento ocurre algo inesperado que la pone en alerta. Aurora lo deja estar y piensa que su cansancio le está haciendo ver cosas donde no las hay. No le da mayor importancia a lo ocurrido hasta que ve su foto en todas las redes sociales y por los motivos equivocados.
En un momento de desesperación Aurora piensa en Nick. Cree que él es su mejor opción y la única persona en la que puede confiar en ese momento. Pero ¿estará Nick dispuesto a ayudarla?
Durante todo este tiempo Nick no ha dejado de pensar en Aurora ni un solo día. Le gustaría olvidarla, pasar página y continuar con su vida, pero no puede. A su alrededor todos están enamorados y felices mientras él no deja de pensar en el final tan abrupto que tuvo su bonita historia de amor.
Por eso cuando recibe la llamada de Aurora, ni se lo piensa dos veces. Accede a ayudarla y desde ese momento también se propone conquistarla. Él y Aurora se merecen una segunda oportunidad. Lo suyo no puede quedar en un romance de verano.
Happy Endings at Mermaids Point es la historia de Nick y Aurora aunque se centra mucho más en ella. Conocemos más de su vida, sus miedos y alegrías. Qué la mueve a ser como es y a esforzarse tanto por ser mejor. Su personaje es uno de los que más ha evolucionado a lo largo de la trama. Quizás por eso me ha costado entender alguna de sus decisiones, tan radical y precipitada. Me hubiese gustado alguna solución que estuviese más en la línea de su historia, algo que fuese un punto intermedio.
Con Happy Endings at Mermaids Point la autora pone fin a una serie entrañable. Me ha encantado reencontrarme con todos los personajes ya conocidos de las historias anteriores. Ver qué ha sido de sus vidas como si de antiguos conocidos se tratase. Recorrer por última vez este pueblo tan bonito y decirle adiós ha sido una experiencia gratificante.
